Saturday
It has been a wonderfully relaxing Saturday. Pat worked in the garage, and I cleaned the bathroom, and then my car. The car looks great inside now:) Then we decided to go out and get a coffee and cookie, and started talking about the type of house we might one day want to buy, and from there took a longer-than-planned drive around some near-by areas. It really was loads of fun. I just love little road trips:)
Then we came home and made Mexican food for dinner - just delicious. Now I am nice and comfy, and about to start stitching. Now just to decide what to work on:)

Spring Cleaning
Today I took a hooky day from school and spent the day continuing our spring cleaning. Today was the bedroom. Cleaned everything, steam cleaned the carpets and moved the furniture around. I'm almost finished now, just a few more things to do, then we're onto cleaning the living room. We're trying to get rid of some of the crap we've accumulated over the last couple of years - seems like we have way too much stuff.
I did a little stitching on Letter C last night, and feel like working on that one a little more this weekend. I will try to post some pics this weekend as I'm sitting here stitching.
Well, I'm off to continue the cleaning:)

No time for stitching!
This has been one of those weeks - just no time for anything. Finally, I'm sitting down, comfy, checking email and facebook. I think I'll make some dinner, then cross stitch while I watch Britcoms. Since I have no stitching updates to share this time, I thought I'd post some pics of my newly formed stitching area (after we moved the furniture around.) What do you think?
Everything a stitcher could need:)

Goodbye Holidays!
Ah Monday, how I loathe thee:) School was busy today even though alot of students were absent. It being Florida, and being several degrees below freezing this morning, some kids didn't come because they were too cold to stand outside to wait for the bus. I thought about not going, but don't want to waste the days.
Tonight we took down the tree and inside decorations. I normally don't take them down quite so early, but I wanted to rearrange the living room furniture. Patrick is still not sure about the new configuration, but I really quite like it. The only thing is that the chairs we are now sitting in are closer to the sliding glass doors, and there is a bit of a draft due to the doggie door. So I think this weekend I will buy a curtain rod and nice thick curtain and put that up. That should take care of it:)
With all the undecorating and moving tonight, I've had no stitching time. But I will have tomorrow. I also went to the gym today after school. First time since Dec. 23. It felt great getting back into routine. I've really grown quite used to working out, and am starting to enjoy the challenges of walking longer or faster and lifting more times or heavier weights. I figure I've got about 15 more lbs to go to my goal. Right now I'm at my pre-preg weight, so I'm happy with that.
Well, I'm off to bed to read for a bit.

November
A new month has come and half way gone. It's amazing to me how some days seem to fly by, and others drag. Although I have to admit that the draggy days are much fewer and far between than they were when I was younger.
Today we said goodbye to our priest at church. He is moving to a new church on Martha's Vineyard. Sounds glorious:) I'm sure he'll be great there. He's a nice guy, full of energy and humor.
This has been a very lazy weekend for me. I've got a bit of a cold, so I've been very lazy and mediciney. I'm actually typing this from the bed, where, when I'm finished this, I will take my nyquil and turn out the light. Yep, sleepy time at 8:30pm. How old am I!!
I have to confess that I have gotten no stitching done at all. I am woefully behind on what I am doing. Perhaps this week will be easier for that. If not, next week is Thanksgiving, and I have Wednesday-Sunday off, so I'll make sure to find some time. Speaking of Thanksgiving, I'm cooking the dinner this year. My folks are coming down, and having dinner here on Thursday, then shopping on Friday. Should be a fun time. Perhaps on Saturday we'll put the tree up:) Love my Christmas tree.
I have only a few goals this month. Stitching wise, I need to continue to work on the letter and on the dalmation piece. (I don't like it, so I'll try to ebay it when it's finished.) I'd also like to do an ornament, so I'll see if I have a small one I can do pretty quick. I'd also like to get my Christmas shopping started - and close to finished. I know it's only November, but I already feel behind in that because Pat's b-day is at the beginning of December, and I usually buy his b-day and Christmas presents at the same time. Gotta get on the ball!! I also need to get back to working out. With being out of town last weekend, and being sick this past week, I haven't been to the gym, but I'll be back at it tomorrow:)
Well I'm off to suck down some Nyquil now.

Craigslist
I think Craigslist is great! We're finally selling all of that exercise equipment we've had lying around for years that we never use. I'm doing great going to the gym, so I feel good about selling it. I've gotten two requests about the bike and one about the elliptical so far. Very wonderful:)
On Friday at school, I had to email an OT I worked with last year about a student I have this year. I should have done it weeks ago, but kept avoiding it. He's a real sweet guy and worked well with the kids. Well, I emailed him and asked my question, and he responded immediately and of course asked about Liam. His wife was also pregnant and just had their little one a couple of weeks ago. Now I'm so not looking forward to tomorrow and having to respond to this with a sentence which begins "unfortunately...". I knew it was going to be like that. That's one of the biggest reasons I was so glad I didn't have to go back to Oak Hill this year. All that sympathy can be hard to take sometimes. That just made me so upset on Friday. I cried all the way home. It still seems so unfair to me. I still miss him. I keep looking at the date and thinking what age he would be now if he'd lived, or if he'd been born on his due date. I wonder what he would look like. Would he have been a good sleeper like his daddy, or a bad one like me. All I do know is I love and miss him ever so much.

Nancy Drew and stuff
So, recently I've been hunting for games online - just stupid little games to play as I'm watching TV. Well about a month or so ago I found Big Fish Games. It lets you have an hour of free play of a ton of games, then if you want to buy the whole game from them you can. I played a Nancy Drew game about 2 weeks ago, and really loved it, so I bought one:) Nancy Drew and the Haunted Carousel. Cute game, and I love that type of game - that and hidden object games. So I've been having fun with that last night and tonight. The bad thing is, I think I'm going to finish it pretty quickly. Probably in the next couple of nights.
I've been back to winding threads again. I've gotten very behind on it in the last couple of years, but now I'm down to about 40 skeins left to wind. I'm also still working on the 101 Dalmations piece. This is one I'm going to finish and try to sell on Ebay. I'm still not sure why I ever got it. Stitching a mostly white dog on white aida fabric is intensely dull:( But I'll keep plugging away at it until it's done. I'm also still working on my letter piece. It's just beautiful. But I need to go back to the store and get that second skein of the blueberry to finish up the background.
Dani, I sure do wish you and Todd were closer, although I had loads of fun laying the floor. It was definately a great sense of accomplishment, and continues to be that every time I go in there.
Well, I'm off to watch Hell's Kitchen, and wind a thread.

My new floor
Well it's done. We installed a new hardwood floor in our computer room, and holy crap it was hard!! Time consuming, and muscle pulling:) I'm sore and tired now. On Friday, we laid the moisture barrier and started laying the planks. It was slow going at first, but once we got into a pattern, it went pretty quick. The hard parts were at the end, putting down the transition from hard wood to lino, and then the quarter round. Oi - just plain awkard. I was hammering in the quarter round when a picture fell of the wall, hit me on the head and the glass broke and cut my hand. Just crazy:) But the floor is in and it looks great. I'll take a pic soon and post it. With all that going on this week there's been no time for stitching, so perhaps this week for that. I will post a pic of the Disney piece, but it's one I got years ago of one of the pups from 101 dalmations, so there's a lot of white in it. Well, I'm off for dinner and whatever I can find the energy to do.
