Ah, Sunday Afternoon

What a busy month this has been so far. I've been trying to get ahead with all my year end paperwork at school, but I'm really just barely keeping up!! Only 15 more days of school left this year! I'm so ready for a break. This year has been really good for me though. I have enjoyed my job and especially the teachers I'm working with. The administration is another story altogether. Never in my now 8 years of teaching have I ever been under such a poor principal - her people skills suck, and she lacks basic common sense and courtesy. The whole school dislikes her, and so does the community. She's just crazy!!

As always, when I get super busy, the stitching falls behind. Today is the first day I've had time, and I think that I'm going to pop in a movie and stitch a little right now. It's really pretty outside, and very tempting to go out and sit, but its also very hot and humid, so perhaps I'll remain in my air conditioned castle:) Now to decide what to work on....

Saturday

It has been a wonderfully relaxing Saturday. Pat worked in the garage, and I cleaned the bathroom, and then my car. The car looks great inside now:) Then we decided to go out and get a coffee and cookie, and started talking about the type of house we might one day want to buy, and from there took a longer-than-planned drive around some near-by areas. It really was loads of fun. I just love little road trips:)
Then we came home and made Mexican food for dinner - just delicious. Now I am nice and comfy, and about to start stitching. Now just to decide what to work on:)

Working out etc.

Well I have hit the gym the last two days, and its been great! Yesterday, for the first time, I ran on the treadmill! Usually I just walk, but I decided to try a light jog. Damn, it hurt!!! So out of 22 minutes I jogged 5 mins yesterday and 6 today, broken up of course. I figure it's a start. I really thought it would be hard on my lungs and breathing etc if I jogged, due to allergies and no training, but I found that part was ok, but it sure did burn my legs and bum!! Perhaps I'll bump up my weight training on those parts:) It certainly has been an experience tho. On the lighter side, I do still have a slightly weak bladder;) Yet another thing to work on!

Also, Easter has come and I can say goodbye to Lent, and to my alcohol restriction!! Oh happy glass of wine:) However, my Dad imparted some knowledge to me, which I guess should not have been new:( When giving up something during Lent, its not enough to give it up - one should also take the money generally used on this and give it to a charity. That will be next years goal.

No cross stitching time today. I headed to the church to sort music, then to the cross stitch store to pick up part of my order. I also picked up a cute little monkey measuring tape:) So if no real time to stitch, at least I hit the store:)

Well onto a little stitching, some wine and American Idol!!

Happy Easter!

What a wonderful and pretty day! A great church service this morning, and a relaxing afternoon. We went out for dinner to Olive Garden (yummy) and now here I am, blogging, surfing and watching "The Sound of Music". What could be better?

I promised some pics of my new cross stitch organization system, so here they are.

Such a simple system, but it looks good and is easy to access. For example, if I wanted to sort through threads, I could just pull that whole bin into the living room and get comfy and examine my threads to my hearts content:)
I think I'll head off now to stitch a little while I watch TV and sing along with all the songs:)

Some stitchy pics

I haven't had done alot of stitching recently, but the spring cleaning is speeding ahead:) Here's some pictures of my works in progress.
This is the Letter C by Nora Corbett. Finally starting on the letter.

This is the start of the baby sampler for my Bro and SIL - a pink piggie and a green doggie (at least I think it's a doggie:)Getting close to the end of this ornament. Just got some beads to do, and fix up the rays from the star.

And finally, this is the beginning of the Ottawa Sampler. I actually screwed up a little on the gate, so I have to make sure to screw it up the same on the other half of the gate:)

Well, those are my WIP's. Also, (and I'll get a pic of this tomorrow) I have finished putting together my new cross stitch organization system. I'm absolutely thrilled with it! Everything is sorted, filed and binned. I just love it:)

This is the beginning of my spring break, so hopefully next week will bring a good bit more stitching time. I do od course plan to hit the beach for a few hours, and the gym daily, but with the house being basically clean (just gotta dust and vacuum) I should have loads of time to stitch and watch tv.

For now, I'm off to bed to watch britcoms and drink a lovely cup of chamomile tea.

An anniversary

Today is an anniversary for me, but not a happy one. This day one year ago, I was given the news that my little baby was a boy, but would most likely not make it. Even now I can remember the shock, the devastation I felt at hearing those words. Never in my worst nightmares could I have imagined something like this happening to me. I am relatively healthy, I was following all the rules - how could my baby be dying? And why me? Why did we lose our little boy when there are abusers and drug addicts popping out babies who will never get the love and attention we would have given to Liam? So many questions, and no answers. Now here I am, one year later, still missing my baby. Thinking about how old he would be now - wondering, would he be babbling yet? Trying to crawl? And always asking - will this happen again? Now we are talking about trying again this summer. I'm a little nervous, but very excited. I definately will not be able to go through this next pregnancy with the innocence I had at the beginning of my first one. I will be much more anxious, constantly worrying that something will go wrong. But go forward we will - we both want children, so we'll pray and try again.

Spring Cleaning

Today I took a hooky day from school and spent the day continuing our spring cleaning. Today was the bedroom. Cleaned everything, steam cleaned the carpets and moved the furniture around. I'm almost finished now, just a few more things to do, then we're onto cleaning the living room. We're trying to get rid of some of the crap we've accumulated over the last couple of years - seems like we have way too much stuff.

I did a little stitching on Letter C last night, and feel like working on that one a little more this weekend. I will try to post some pics this weekend as I'm sitting here stitching.

Well, I'm off to continue the cleaning:)
